Skiing Queen!

Austria is my kind of place!! So on Friday, January 27, after school I went to who will be my third families house. (This day was also my moms birthday!! Happy birthday mom :) I love you) We packed everything up and the on Saturday got an early start driving to Austria! After seven hours of driving we got to our hotel. We stayed in a cute little hotel, that was more like an apartment, family hotel. We stayed in a little village called Gröbming which was about 15 minutes from the ski resort Schladming where we skied. Where we were skiing was a big resort that included 7 ski mountains, one ski glacier, more than 80 ski lifts and more than 40 cabins to eat and warm up in! It
Was such a beautiful place and they had everything wonderfully organized for the guests! So they had fast chair lifts, with bubbles if the weather was bad, lots of gondolas, and even chairlifts with padding and heating in the seats! It was like I was royalty! We skied for five days, with two other families. We were a big group of 6 adults and 5 kids. One of the kids will be my next host sister and she was very cute! This ski resort had four mountains that you could ski two and from, in the same day! But all together the four mountains were not as big as vail and did not have as good of terrain. Here everyone pretty much skied on the ski runs, similar to in Italy. But I saw tracks of people that went in
The trees and off of the groomed runs. On one of the ski runs there was a sign that said where all of the world cups had been. There were two places that said that Vail and Beaver Creek held the races and I was proud to say that I live there!! Through out the week I skied pretty much on every run! Every day after lunch I eat of the my new favorite sweet which is called goz gomboc, which is an Austrian specialty. On Friday I was sad to go home, but luckily when I arrived home it felt amazing to be back with my family! :) I missed them and they even said they truly missed me!
